The Pretzel Depot
 The Pretzel Depot, the areas premier specialty pretzel bakery and
café, opened at the site of the old Royersford Train Station in January,
2006 by John Pellechia and his wife Susan. The Pellechias' choice
of fare stems from a simple reason that snowballed over the years.
"I think it's mainly because I've always loved Philly pretzels in
general," John says.
Then, while Pellechia was studying for his Masters in Business
Administration, he had an assignment to design a fictitious company, and
he focused his energy on a specialty pretzel shop.
The Royersford Train Station
When the Pellechias saw the abandoned train station, located on
Railroad Plaza in the borough, they knew the location would be ideal for
a business, especially one where commuters could pop in and grab a
coffee and a sandwich on their trek to work. After all, it once
was a thriving train station and hub of the surrounding area. This
was well documented by the Spring Ford Historical Society and it's
president Bill Brunner (Click Here for History).

enhancement of the train station into a comfortable eatery, to the
ingredients used in the preparation of the food, it is simply a first
class operation. The Pellechias trained with one of Philadelphia's
original soft pretzel bakers and their recipe became the backbone of a
menu that includes pretzel bites, braids, twists and bagels and much
